When we pulled up to Fat Lorenzo's by following our GPS, I at first wasn't sure we had the right spot since it's in a VFW. Being in a VFW should tip you off to the experience we had - service and ambiance was a little weird, but the food was great. The restaurant shares a giant dining room with the VFW bar. When we sat down we didn't see any servers, and after 10-15 minutes we still hadn't seen anyone come out to any of the tables, ours included. We thought that maybe you had to order at the bar, so one of our party went up to inquire. For the record, a server will come to you. Ours just took forever. Once the debacle of finding the place and ordering was out of the way, I really enjoyed my food. Our table split an order of garlic cheese bread, and it was very indulgent. Definitely a day's worth of calories in every serving, but considering the place has got Fat in the name it's not surprising. For my entree I went with the garlic chicken hoagie, minus the banana peppers. So garlicky, and enough cheese to choke a horse. After half I was stuffed, but the leftovers reheated nicely. The artery-clogging goodness would prevent this from being a regular stop for me if I lived in the area, but it should be on your list for game day takeout or when you need to eat your feelings to fill the void in the dead of the Minnesotan winter.

Food: Hot and fresh. I had two slices of pepperoni pizza. Big slices! I recommend just ordering one as they very filling. I also tried the cookies and cream gelato. Very good gelato! Atmosphere: This restaurant is small, but during the time we were there, the weather was nice, so outside seating was available. Customer Service: Quick and somewhat friendly. Price: Good price for the amount of food served. Conclusion: This restaurant serves good pizza. I recommend eating here.

Nice open bar. Roomy and has live entertainment. The food is really good and reasonable. Of course it in the same building as the VFW so a lot if military decor. Being a veteran or not, it a great place to have fun and some drinks with friends.

We arrived about 20 minutes before closing (and we weren't sure if we were in the right place it's not well marked) and the place was empty but we gave it a shot. We got a medium "carne pazza" (meat crazy) and it was so delicious! It was on a New York style hand tossed crust with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage and sliced meatballs. Instead of regular pizza it had a great marinara sauce. It was a heavy, huge pizza! We could barely eat 3 pieces together. Extra tip - the first time you check in on 4square you get a free small gelato with an $8 purchase.
